PromptForge — Privacy Policy

What PromptForge does

PromptForge is a Chrome extension that helps you improve AI prompts on Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. When you click Enhance, your prompt is sent to our server where it is processed by an AI model and 10 improved variants are returned to you.

What data we collect

We collect nothing. Specifically:

• Prompts you submit are sent to our server only to generate variants. They are processed in memory and immediately discarded — never written to disk, never stored in a database.
• We do not log prompt content, user identifiers, or browser fingerprints.
• We do not use cookies, analytics, or any tracking technology.
• We do not share any data with third parties.

On-device processing

On compatible desktop devices (Chrome 127+, sufficient RAM and GPU), PromptForge uses Chrome Built-in AI (Gemini Nano) to enhance prompts entirely on your device. In this case, your prompt never leaves your computer at all.

Permissions we request

• storage — to save your display preferences locally in your browser.
• activeTab — to detect when you are on a supported AI chat site.
• Host permissions for claude.ai, chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, gemini.google.com — to inject the Enhance button and overlay into those pages.
• Host permission for quant-os.duckdns.org — to send your prompt to the PromptForge server for AI enhancement.

Security

All communication between the extension and our server uses HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate. No API keys or credentials are stored in the extension.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
